Artist: boys noize Title: transmission remixes pt.2, tiga rmx |
Cat.No. bnr042 Label: BOYS NOIZE.Format: EXCL12"C |
€ 7.39 | |
| Boys Noize new album" POWER" has been released in October 2009 and already got massiv support across all genres. "Transmission" is the 2nd Single out of "POWER", it´s static unheared synth sound, it s robot voices (YOU ARE NEUTRON BECAUSE LAZOR TRANSMISSION) on a breakbeat gives you a feeling of Josh Winks early hit "Higher States of Conciousness" going to bed with Kraftwerks sound aesthetic and Robots on a 2010 afterparty. This release includes a "dream package" of remixes and also a video to follow shortly after. Well respected electronica producer Mr. OIZO (Ed Banger) does what he can do best by twisting the original to a serious moment of a firecracker, TIGA takes the main idea of the original song and turns it into the perfect 4/4 banger, BNR´s super talented DJEDJOTROIC delivers 2 remixes: 1 Acid drivin´ shot and a "big room" techno dub for friends of Len Faki or Dubfire. With the UNTOLD remix (Hessle Audio) you probably get Dubstep´s most interesting producer bringing an epic Dubstep version. Last but not least you get a real deep techno remix by the techno master himself: JAMES RUSKIN (Bluefin Rec). Resident DJ of Berlin´s Berghain delivers a top of his class techno mix.ll remixes will be split up in two parts of a Vinyl and digital version including a new Club Version Edit by Boys Noize himself. What can we say, this is it, this is POWER :) | ||||

Artist: dani casarano & felipe valenzuela Title: la tulipe ep |
Cat.No. cadenza47 Label: CADENZA.Format: EXCL12"C |
€ 7.39 | |
| Dani Casarano and Felipe Valenzuela have been on a serious hot streak for the past couple of years since each began releasing music, and together, they're doing even more damage. The Swiss/Chilean partnership has torn it up from the Alps to the Andes and back, with a steady stream of records for the likes of Fumakilla, Fumalab and Metroline. Now, making their debut appearance on Cadenza, they deliver an EP that goes incredibly deep: deftly balancing hypnotic house grooves, Afro-Latin percussive flights and carefully manipulated jazz samples, tough and smooth in equal measure. Nearly 10 minutes long, "La Tulipe" is a tour de force of inspired programming and intuitive arrangement. Reminding us that "deep house" means more than just plunking chords over a 4/4 beat, Casarano and Valenzuela draw upon Afrobeat to give the tune its unusually lithe, limber step. Building slowly atop a bed of rippling percussion, interlocking keyboards and bass lines braid a tight, call-and-response counterpoint flecked with syncopated accents. Powerful but understated, almost subliminal vocal shots keep the energy spiraling upwards, and a dazzling piano solo provides the final element to carry the track along its liquid course. "Chance" digs in with a heavier, blunter bass line and a more immediate groove; zeroing in on a one-bar repetition, it chimes over and over like an alarm clock set to wake you from your disco nap. For all its forward momentum, its airy piano phrases actually tug you ever deeper into dreamland, before it all blows wide open with flashing hi-hats and a renewed sense of energy. A vision of deep house at its most emphatic, it's also a study in careful control, with the duo's fingertips subtly pressed against filters and faders, sculpting and shaping. | ||||

Artist: michael melchner Title: four to the floor, m.tanzmann remix |
Cat.No. cargo014 Label: CARGO EDITION.Format: EXCL12"A |
€ 7.39 | |
| Michael Melchner does not only stand for the style of Cargo Edition, but also significantly contributes to its character. His deep and earthy house sounds are clearly influenced by his profound sense of style and by his music's charming danceable rhythms. But then again, taking his musical background into mind, this is more or less expectable. Being barely full age he was already one of the most prominent DJ's in the Nuremberg club scene, and after winning a DJ award at the famous 'Rakete' club has since been resident DJ there. To top it off, his releases on Cargo Edition in 2008 and 2009 have provided him with bookings across Europe. Michael Melchner's new EP "Four To The Floor" reflects his style one hundred percent: skilfully placed drums, and basslines which have to be felt rather than heard, demonstrate that it is not worth referring to him only as talent anymore, he's an expert! He has reached such a level that the label head Matthias Tanzmann himself has enriched the "Four To The Floor" EP with his own excellent remix. The remix has already caused quite a stir during the single Circo Loco party at Ibiza in October 2009, as you can see in the first minutes of this video: http://www.dancetrippin.tv/lib.cfm/6460/DJ_set_episodes_130/Matthias_Tanzmann/ Michael Melchner's keen sense of rhythm and atmosphere in "Four To The Floor" will not only one again satisfy his fans, but will also certainly open the eyes of a whole new audience. | ||||

Artist: robag wruhme Title: proviant, ark remix |
Cat.No. ccs044 Label: CIRCUS COMPANY.Format: EXCL12"C |
€ 7.39 | |
| Circus Company is proud to celebrate it's first collaboration with one of the most emblematic and talented actors of the Jena scene. For sure you know Robag Wruhme for is past work on his own imprint Musik Krause and on Feud-Am- Tanzen alongside Monkey Mafia as The Wighnomy Brothers dj duet. This artist always stand out musically. From his past releases till today and across his remixes you can't miss his unique personality in music. This four tracker provides a colorful musical palette of Mr Wruhme. From the dark and minimal side of Blech Beulé to the « herbertish » Robadella and the magnificent melodical slow mood of 48° 52' N, 2° 21' (In between, that's the location for Paris on the map in case you loose yourself...) While he was delivering the tracks Robag also requested a remix from Ark, another strong character of the Paris. Ark did a a brilliant work on this Blech Beulé remix which gives a nice „avant goût“ of his upcoming album on Perlon which will be out in April. | ||||

Artist: goldfish + der dulz Title: plants ep |
Cat.No. hal005 Label: HASELAND.Format: EXCL12"A |
€ 7.39 | |
| Goldfish + Der Dulz release for nearly one decade their tracks on great labels as Moon Harbour, Playhouse, Ware, Esel, especially Boxer Sport and Kickboxer and now on their own new label hi freaks. And finally Haseland Magnetschallplatten! When they're playing live they use their laptop, a funky bass sometimes and they're singing all by themselves, wow. And of course they are DJs, too. A highlight in their career: John Peel played their track "Syncro" revue in one of his last radio-shows. At the moment they work on the first album. so watch out! Oh, those summer nights... During some big time-bad ass-wild partying at Bremen's former freight depot, now techno party hotspot, in the summer of 2000, Maurice Dulz and Joerg Fischer developed a musical crush on each other. Maurice has been DJ-ing for the last decade or so, Joerg knows how to get the right sound out of those blinking computers. Maurice can only be seen as a kind of musical pioneer: he already preferred those clicks, cuts, clonks and ticktacks, when the rest of planet Techno was still wearing the uniform of trousers like tents. Wunderkind Joerg on the other hand, has been handling almost every kind of musical instrument since the tender age of ten. The musical destination Goldfish and his Dulz wanted to take was set from the very beginning: funky, yet reduced electronic music, delicatly laced with a soft melody. The two wizards had been playing together for just a short while, when the first tracks attrected interest and were released by genre-defining Frankfurt based label "Playhouse". EPs on Moon Harbour followed, on Boxer Sport, Dance Electric and many other labels. Apart from that, Goldfish + der Dulz featured on many compilations by Esel, Sub-Static and Ware. In the meantime their own label "Hi Freaks!" has a whole record case full of brilliant releases with artists like Piemont, White Trash aka Larsson, Chaim, Axel Bartsch and, of course, Goldfish + der Dulz. One of the numerous fans is John Peel, the BBC-Godfather of Music who featured a title by Goldfish + der Dulz in his legendary show. Fans of Goldfish + der Dulz who want to book the duo are spoilt for choice: they perform as a gripping live-act, as DJs they can fill each and every dance-floor. In 2009 they released two eps, one of them was produced with Karolin Mueller (hey karolin). I went No. 1 in the Decks Charts for 7 weeks and has a place in Deck´s all times top 10. Artist: oni ayhun Title: oar 004 |
Cat.No. oar004 Label: ONI AYHUN.Format: EXCL12"K |
€ 7.99 | |
| This music works by releasing carbon dioxide gas into a batter through an acid-base reaction, causing bubbles in the wet mixture to expand and thus leavening the mixture. It is used where the batter lacks the elastic structure to hold gas bubbles for more than a few minutes. Because carbon dioxide is released at a faster rate through the acid-base reaction than through fermentation, music made by chemical leavening is called 'quick compositions'. The tracks are made up of an alkaline component, one or more acid salts, and an inert starch (cornstarch in most cases, though potato starch is also used). Sequenced feedback is the source of the carbon dioxide, and the acid-base reaction is more accurately described as an acid-activated decomposition, which can be generically represented as; NaHCO3 + H+ ? Na+ + CO2 + H2O. Acid in music can be either fast-acting or slow-acting. A fast-acting acid reacts in a wet mixture with baking soda at room temperature, and a slow-acting acid will not react until heated in an oven. This music, that contains both fast- and slow-acting acids is double acting. By providing a second rise in the oven, double-acting music increase the reliability of baked goods by rendering the time elapsed between mixing and baking less critical. Common low-temperature acid salts include cream of tartar and monocalcium phosphate. High-temperature acid salts include sodium aluminum sulfate, sodium aluminum phosphate, and sodium acid pyrophosphate. This includes both. | ||||

Artist: jackmate & the missing linkx Title: discodisco 2 |
Cat.No. pampa002 Label: PAMPA.Format: EXCL12"E |
€ 7.39 | |
| Following on from the irresistible debut of Die Vögel's Blaue Moschee, DJ Koze and Marcus Fink continue on in their quest to push the envelope and fill the dancefloor with Pampa Records' second release. Pampa Records looks to highly respected producer and DJ Michel Baumann for the next chapter of the story, and he doesn't disappoint! Undoubtedly one of best producers and DJs on both the German and international scenes, Baumann is well known to fans of quality deep house and techno as the owner of the Philpot and phil e imprints. Baumann has also made a name for himself with the deep, soulful house of SoulPhiction, and with tougher beats as his club-focused alter ego Jackmate; all of this when he's not devoting any spare in-between moments to his many colllaborative projects, like The Missing Linkx. For their first Pampa Records release, Jackmate & Missing Linkx's raw grooves and innate musicality achieve new heights of inventiveness with DIsicodisco2, a record that is already one of the most memorable of the year.Within the first few seconds of "Discodisco2" it's clear this isn't any ordinary club track! A favourite in Koze's recent DJ sets, the atmospheric "Discodisco2" is propelled by the urgent momentum of stomping post-punk and deep funk. A brooding retro groove is built on a three-note bass guitar loop, with the dubbed-out bass lick making for a uniquely organic dancefloor experience. Building to a crescendo with sampled soul vocals and a dueling guitar-and-synth melody, "Discodisco2" is guaranteed to momentarily transform any club into an authentic disco block party. On the flip Jackmate & The Missing Linkx again hone in on the power of instrumentation, resulting in a track that Koze himself says sounds "like Sly Stone in the bathtub"! "TäteräTä" is built on a base of honking brass, handclaps, mouth-made percussion, and tech-tinged beats, before a cello thunders to life to deliver the penultimate moment of psychedelic quirkiness. Melding, moulding and transforming the cello into unrecognisability, it takes on a life of its own at the forefront of the track, before melting into liquid keys and ghostly choruses. By refusing the empty synthesized effects and "modern" sounds found in so many tracks these days, Jackmate & The Missing Lynkx have succeeded with Discodisco2 in creating timeless classics for fans of forward-thinking music. | ||||

Artist: ryo murakami Title: lunch of god, scott ferguson remix |
Cat.No. quintesse12 Label: QUINTESSENTIALS.Format: EXCL12"A |
€ 7.39 | |
| We are happy to present our first japanese artist on Quintessentials, Ryo Murakami. Ryo is no stranger to the scene, as he already released a bunch of records on respected labels like Dessous, Pokerflat or soon on Mule Musique. The main track "lunch of god" is a deep, raw and reduced house track with a strong US flavour and was already featured in Jus'Ed's Underground Quality radio show. Ryo takes it even further with reducing - the result is "depths", a basic kickin techno track. The flipside offers the more than 11 minutes long "lunch of god" remix by house master Scott Ferguson. The Ferris Park maestro keeps things close to the original but adds more club feel plus a superb lil bonus track of his own. Check it out! | ||||

Artist: wareika Title: formation |
Cat.No. tarteletcd001 Label: TARTELET.Format: EXCL1CDA |
€ 15.89 | |
| Tartelet Records proudly presents Wareiika : Formation Starting with ep's for well-known quality labels such as Eskimo Recordings, Future Classic, Liebe/Deatil, Motivbank or Connaisseur, and providing something special for compilations like Satoshi Tomiie's famous "Renaissance", Wareika's work has inspired people around the world who like to listen closely. Like Ricardo Villalobos, who contributed a remix to their jazz-meets-techno epos "King's Child", lately compared to St.Germains greatest moments and recently released on Motivbank. To live up the Danish-German relationship, Hamburg City based Wareika now bring their overview of outstanding musical pieces to Tartelet Records, who already have spreaded some stunning tracks to introduce the Album: "ASCENDING/DESCANDING", a trip to the world of 7/8 rhythms, never the less keeping your feet in movement, and the way-down-to-africa 5/4 groove caravan "BARACUDA", a fish able to swim in the sand. Throughout the album, Jakob Seidensticker, Florian Schirmacher and Henrik Raabe are creating a FORMATION back to back as a band, constantly developing their musical approach. So they picked up some field recordings, or solo piano interludes, or even did special album versions. As well "MEN VILLAGE" in a live version, "ONE NATION" in a special album version, and of course the rare 10 minutes jazzistic improvisation on "RIDER'S ON THE STORM" give this Album the intimate feeling of having an eclectic ensemble playing for you, be it in your living room, or on a festival stage, like the smasher "BURNIN'" implies, that comes with a GusGus remix included. Programmed electronics, human voices and the feeling of touching instruments with your ears mingle in this groove that makes you wanna dance in a circle around a campfire called "FACING THE SUN". This vibe of being alive is now making friends worldwide, and in Radiostations, Blogs, Clubs and Home stereos the band's language can be understood by anyone who is willing to open up their ears. I am, because I listen and I know my "BELONGING". Like De:Bug Magazin lately wrote about Wareika: ..there is always something special in their music that can be reached out of the moment, in which everything makes sense." | ||||

Artist: deepa & biri Title: emergence |
Cat.No. uy032 Label: UPON YOU RECORDS.Format: EXCL12"C |
€ 7.39 | |
| We would like to welcome Deep`a and Biri to Upon You Records. These two up and coming young producers from Israel have sent us three Jackin`House tracks, which we know you will enjoy. We'd had an eye on them for a while after hearing their Tracks that they released for Kammer, Trapez and Rotary Cocktail, all the better that they now have another platform for their darker house style. On A1 we have "Barzilay" a track that is dedicated to the club in Tel Aviv where Deep `a is a resident and salutes the vibrant energy of the city. B1 is wilder and more psychedelic; Deep'a & Biri made a gem called "Emergenze" that subtly pushes itself forward then rolls over everything in its path. "Hoya" on B2 keeps the mystical suspense level up where it should be, and adds a bouncier Tom-groove to round things off perfectly. Shalom! | ||||

Artist: tolga fidan Title: gaijin |
Cat.No. va033 Label: VAKANT.Format: EXCL12"C |
€ 7.39 | |
| Tolga Fidan, in his last tasty impartment on Vakant before his solo debut album due out in October of this year, brings 2 full sides of the most expansive mind and body moving you will find outside of a gypsy circle on Jupiter. If techno has a jazz fusion subgenre, A-side ‘Gaijin’ is it, making Tolga our own personal Chick Corea with a strobe light. With the prerequisite thickness and authority we have come to take for granted from the Vakant camp, “Gaijin” goes to space while sporting an afro and 15 piece avant-garde jazz band. 15 minutes later you remember the trip but have no idea where you’ve landed. B-side ‘Drunk Rotations’ loses a few members of the band due to cosmic radiation. Remaining members cut their parts into smaller morsels while Chick aka Tolga applies the icing by way of piano. Then the stowaway horn section appears. Where did the modular synth fit, and who brought the Theremin? These are questions for the Mystics. Yet in all the detail of ‘Drunk Rotations’ you never lose the jack or your place on the cosmic dance floor. | ||||

Artist: shaun reeves & guti Title: hold me tight |
Cat.No. wlm09 Label: WOLFANDLAMB MUSIC.Format: EXCL12"C |
€ 7.39 | |
| The visionary project on everyone’s lips, Wolf + Lamb, unveil a new collaboration from Shaun Reeves & Guti with the heartwarming ‘Hold Me Tight’ EP. Bookmarked by the summer landscape of Berlin and inspired by good memories of their recent introduction, these two sincere and momentous creations were conceived in a new collaboration between Shaun Reeves and Guti. “Guti and I met in Miami last March and decided that we get along really well,” explained Shaun Reeves. In fact Guti tattooed both Shaun’s and Seth Troxler’s names on his arms at that rst meeting, perhaps an early indicator of comradery and shared spirit. “We got together again in Berlin not too long after that and that’s when we made the Hold Me Tight remix.” Originally penned for a defunct German label, the remix of Popkullies & Rebekahbecame a danceoor bomb for Gadi & Zev AKA Wolf & Lamb, who picked it up as soon as they could for release on the New York based imprint. A playful remix - as much for its snappy bass and sharp snares as for the integral hums and contented vocal – it sets free a upbeat and vivacious style from these two producers. Contrastingly ‘Saudade’ takes a more sombre route, with Guti playing lively staccato and solo jazz- infused piano to create a warm melodic ensemble. Shaun Reeves is one of the new Detroit maa rising from the techno birthplace alongside Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson (both his roommates in Berlin) and Lee Curtiss, whose talent and shared party spirit came to the attention of the masses in 2009. Part of the core Wolf + Lamb family, Shaun demonstrates a awless passion for exploring the boundaries of electronic music. Guti began to discover his musical passion as a jazz pianist, before becoming a rock star in his home of Argentina when a young, wild and free spirit. With signicant releases laid down on Locodice’s Desolat label and forthcoming on a series of prolic imprints, he has become a key Latin-American talent worth paying attention to. | ||||

Artist: murr Title: sunday morning ep/ schneider & dan m rmx |
Cat.No. nk20 Label: NEW KANADA.Format: US12 |
€ 8.99 | |
| NEW KANADA is very proud to present a true gem - Murr’s elegant “Sunday Morning”. This track has been floating around for months, but has never been commited to vinyl until now. Supported equally by nu-disco jocks, the deep house afficiandos, the emotional “indie” crowd, and even the hard techno crew. Elevating itself beyond genres, this monster will light up even the darkest of corners. Remixes of two other Murr tracks, “Forgotten” and “Superior”, are included on the flip. Mood Edit’s raw house remix of “Forgotten” features a micro-edit collage of the masterful guitar skills of Takeshi Nishimoto (from “I’m Not A Gun” project with John Tejada). Masterful, loose jamming permeates this mix and results in accidental moments of magic. Somewhere between Shazz and and Akufen, this mix will warm the winter blues. Next up is Marc Schneider and Dan M’s remix of “Superior”. With it’s aggressive swing and early jack vibe, this mix is made for the DJ’s to surgically manipulate the floor. Both Marc and Dan have an innate ability to distill a track down to it’s most basic parts, and recombine everything into some serious bombs in the classic house vein. This is mix raises the bar even further. | ||||

Artist: cobblestone jazz Title: the modern deep left quartet |
Cat.No. k7258cd Label: K7.Format: GCD |
€ 16.89 | |
| Two and a half years after their debut LP, 23 Seconds dazzled critics and lit up dance floors worldwide, Cobblestone Jazz are back with a powerhouse new album that captures their live-in-the-studio energy like never before. A mixture of heady, jazz-inspired house grooves and below-the-belt analog funk, it raises the bar for electronic dance music in 2010. Titled The Modern Deep Left Quartet, the record marks an important addition to the Cobblestone Jazz lineup, as the trio of Mathew Jonson, Danuel Tate and Tyger Dhula brings aboard Colin de la Plante (aka the Mole). De la Plante is no newcomer to the Cobblestone crew: the four musicians have been playing together for nearly 15 years, since their first performances in small-town Victoria, British Columbia, and they've all shared the stage as the Modern Deep Left Quartet. (In 2005, they also recorded an EP for the band's Wagon Repair label, which is also responsible for the vinyl release of The Modern Deep Left Quartet.) Now, using the moniker as their new album title, the band officially anoints de la Plante a full-time member of the studio lineup. The band recorded the album during three intense weeks over the summer. With Jonson and de la Plante living in Berlin and Tate and Dhula holding down the fort in Victoria, they stay on top of their game by touring once every other month, taking advantage of downtime between gigs to rehearse and record in their Berlin studio. "Rehearse" and "record" actually mean virtually the same thing for Cobblestone Jazz: their method is spontaneous, in part because their gear requires it. There's no saving patches with the analog machines like theirs-antiques like the TR-808, TR-909 and SH-101; newfangled headscratchers like Cwejman and Doepfer modular synths; strange, custom-built doohickeys of uncertain purpose; and of course Tate's trusty vocoder and Fender Rhodes. Tracks begin from scratch and develop across freeform jam sessions that often see day turning into night (and sometimes, back to day-and back to night.) The final mix is done in real-time, with three of the four musicians spread out across a semi-circle of machines, attacking all the buttons, knobs and faders they can handle, yelling out the changes, filtering and looping on the fly. At the same time, Tate lays down his Rhodes solos and accompaniments in one shot. If the band doesn't like a given take, they do it again. Rather than making the music busier, the extra set of hands has finessed it even fp | ||||

Artist: v.a.( christopher rau, achim maerz) Title: dérive vol.2 |
Cat.No. derive02 Label: DéRIVE.Format: G12 |
€ 7.39 | |
| Almost one year after the first release Dérive Schallplatten releases the second record. That’s quite a long time. But however, haste makes waste and even more when it’s about some passionate drifters! A 1 Christopher Rau_Da Toms Dérive Vol. 2 starts with “Da Toms”, a tune that is best described as a real Dj-tool. In the background a discreet organ loop floats like lost in thought and leaves enough space for the extensive play of the rythmn. Dj’s will love that track because it suits excellent to tease everything out of those wonderful toms while the next record is already in the mix. A 2 Christopher Rau_My Lesson Christopher’s tunes sometimes express a certain ambivalence. “My Lesson” definitively falls in that category. While the interplay of bittersweet melodies reveals a deeply grounded melancholia, the vigorous beat and the acidic bassline proceed unwaveringly into the future. But ambivalence doesn’t mean a dissacord. The different parts interlock very well. Who is wondering? Sadness and euphoria stay so often side by side. B 1 Achim Maerz_99385 (Achim’s KneeDeepEdit) This time Achim shows us another side of his musical repertoire. After “Garish” on Vol. 1, which was called a “detroithouseslammer (De:Bug)”, with “99385” he has a much more cushy job. Right from the start the well-balanced structure of the track makes you feel secure and the gentle, but certain sounds reach your body like small waves, over and over again. This is “Dub House” at its best and a perfect opener for club nights, that lets much become possible. | ||||

Cat.No. hflp003 Label: HOTFLUSH.Format: UK3LP |
€ 19.99 | |
| Scuba, aka Paul Rose, has been at the forefront of the dubstep scene since its birth. Havingfounded the innovative and influential Hotflush Recordings label in 2003, he has continually brought colour and depth to an advancing genre, expanding its sonic structure and increasing its influence on the wider electronic scene. Through Scuba and seminal work by central figures including Distance, Vex'd and more recently Mount Kimbie and Joy Orbison, Hotflush remains crucial to the immediate moment and the developing future of the most exciting aspects of electronic music. Following the first Scuba LP, A Mutual Antipathy (2008), and the more recent Aesaunic EP (2009), this album takes the Scuba sound to a new level. The collision of dubstep and techno has produced startling music from a wide range of producers in the last few years, none more than Scuba, and that has been well documented. But Triangulation moves past the dubstep/techno axis and into new territory. Working at multiple tempos, the album covers an area ranging from house to experimental drum n bass while retaining the Scuba sound that has become so distinctive. You Got Me and So You Think You're Special, released as an advance 12", reflect the range of the album with the huge bass and frenetic energy of the former contrasting with the melancholic atmospheres and melodies of the latter. The listless beauty of Before, the aggressively percussive Minerals and the hyperactive electro of On Deck provide further stylistic variation, but this is not simply a collection of tracks - for the best sonic results this album should be listened to in full.
