| This is the first release of CLR at Word And Sound distribution and the kick-off for the label´s 10 years anniversary release cycle. To celebrate the birthday we are releasing a series of five singles, available on 10 inch vinyls (1-5) as well as digital. The series will be followed by the huge 10 Years CLR Compilation with a special collectors artwork. It has been mixed and edited by Chris Liebing and all the 10 tracks, which appear on the singles and later on the compilation are exclusive and specifically produced for this purpose. Chris Liebing and Green Velvet teamed up for the first time pretty much by accident. Dustin Zahn actually became some kind of obstetrician when he started this mash-up. Alex Bau is known as one of the long time CLR artists and obviously had to contribute a track to the series. Both tracks are road tested and guarantee serious damage on the dancefloors! | ||||

| The Spaniard Manuel Fernandez Llorente had a classical musical upbringing, studying at the Music Conservatorium in Madrid. He has been composing and producing electronic music since 1996, not only releasing on his own label “7Noise” but more importantly also being licensed for various major compilations. Beatport voted his track “Evolve” as the best minimal track in 2009. Now he is releasing his first tracks on Highgrade records. At first, “Addiction” unspectacularly plods on towards House heaven, but then the sparse vocals and timeless Organ sounds give you a warm and soft electro shock. The first track on the B side “The Gull” shows off Prompt’s talents as a composer. A very discreet melody blankets the straight beat, taking away the coldness of the bass. A beautiful dream track that should never really end. “Mechanic” brings it home and is right in your face, a journey into minimal techno country, where you meet the sound ghosts that Prompt has summoned. A single drum beat here, a voice there and a now and again a sound shred that are all meticulously arranged to make the perfect atmosphere. The digital bonus track “Blue Light” is minimal at its best, warm, funky and functional. | ||||

| Dan Curtin's ninth album, "Lifeblood", will be released on mobilee records in April and as his first album in three years, we think there is ample cause for celebration. With an epic 16 tracks, it's a diversified whole that rewards a sustained, concentrated listening, but it is also at ease being broken down and carted off in DJ bags. For this very purpose, and as a special teaser for the album, Dan invited renowned remixer and producer from Amsterdam, DJ Madskillz, to cook up his own special interpretation of "Mr Bean Do An E"., and the result is set to cause some club chaos. With a very successful career behind him and over 90 productions in his wake, DJ Madskillz is one of the most prolific DJs in the Netherlands. He boasts a discography which would impress most, not to mention an extensive list of remixes including Christian Smith and Reset Robot's "Air Miles", which caused such a stir, Beatport practically had to kick it out of the Top 10 Techno House charts at the end of last year since it seemed it would never leave. Let´s start with the original version of "Sick Liar", eponymous track of the EP. Even if Elle P. might not be"persuaded to stay", crowing like a deliciously wild diva, Iftah has nonetheless strong arguments to make you dance by swinging between dark electro synth waves and jazzy piano notes. Call it insane funk!Is there a need to introduce D.O.P? Over the last few years, Circus Company´s Paris trio have garnered a lot of attention with their remixes and own productions among the most hard to please beat connaisseurs. Laid down on as the first track of the A-side, D.O.P. restrained with their remix the delightful craziness of the original, but twist it into a hypnotic after-party highlight. The party will definitely go on… On the flipside, the original version of "The Pink Painter" delivers the best of what modern pop music has to offer. Feline and distinguished, the voice of Elle P. reveals its most emotional traits, rightly balanced with the uplifting melodies of Iftah`s synthesiser. What a track!With such outstanding materials and a talented producer of the like of Rüde Hagelstein, things could not have gone wrong. Rüde toys with the voice, tunes up the cinematic and nostalgic elements of the original with a classic but no less unstoppable 4/4 beat, and turns "The Pink Painter" into a perfect stomp. | ||||

So this is it again: the very best of the last releases on Koletzki's sublabel Stil vor Talent Digital on a double-sided vinyl edition. Starting off with two tracks by Bruch & Junior that couldnt be more different: While "Fiesta de la Residencia" sounds like somebody threw some Spanish vocals and trumpets into a pool of tech-house beats and basslines at a maniac afterhour on the White Island (ergo: great), "Sunset" is the deeply euphoric sound for the morning after. The synthesizers so crisp and all around you, the beat and bassline so warm and seductive: this is purely magical music that will make you forget when the sun went down or up the last time while still making you want to shake your legs to the strong bassline and chunky loop. Hit! On the flip then comes a re-work of a massive hit on Stil vor Talent: a 2010 version of Nicone's "Una Rosa" complete with the original Spanish vocals, but a much more grooving loop that turns into an absolute percussion fest. Claps turn into effects and we all raise our hands to those reverbed original vocals. Last up Australian Murat Kilic with the wonderfully oldskool house anthem "Summer Traffic": great melodic pads, a superbly harmonic bassline and when the breakdown kicks in, an ever-indulging xylophon melody. This whole record has got summer written all over it and helps us all get through this icy winter. | ||||

| The Yore Captain returns to his own Yore Imprint on the Labels 21st Release. "Shadow City" presents different visions of funky house grooves. The A side's "The "Y" Theme" gets deeply moving with a funky house pulse before stoking the fire with the addition of speaking voices (trippingly intoning the Q&A "What are we doing this for?" and "The music"), a move which single-handedly jumpstarts the track. After the voices appear, the groove's intensity escalates and plunges deeper, its gyroscopic house swing becoming more dizzying and torrential with each passing bar before coming to an acidy storming end. In its opening moments, "Shadow City" opts for a deeper and more serenading vibe by comparison, but that's traded in for a slinkier attack at the three-minute mark that grows progressively more ferocious as the track makes its drastic upwards ascent. A Trippin' dangerous murder weapon to say the least. Watch your Heads! The B side's B2 track, "Mumbai Dweller" keeps the focus primarily on the bottom end, specifically a strutting tribal-house funk groove that's dragged even deeper by a throbbing bass undertow, adding Dark Chords to it, giving this EP a Darker Feeling towards the end. To sum it all up: This is Raw House Music at it's best! | ||||
