jackal & hyde - sound of the underground - detelefunkDetroit Grand Pubahs give up their place to Jackal & Hyde for the 6 th release on the Pubah’s Det.ele.funk label. Jackal & Hyde have been called "the purveyors of the hardcore-electro sound" (electro-core), a combination of industrial laden electro beats, and psychotic keys. Jackal & Hyde are Scott Weiser, and Todd Walker in an effort to combine a harder edge sound with the dancefloor sensibility of Electro and Breaks. Scott Weiser, who is most recognized for his work with Dynamix II Bass", has been writing and producing dance music for well over a decade. He is also one half of I.B.M with Bass Junkie. On the A side, ‘Sound of the Underground’ takes you through an old skool electro journey with a chorus that name checks the original purveyors of the sound and its creation from Miami bass through to Detroit, from Kraftwerk to Africa Bambaata. On the flip side they speed things up for the dark, twisted beats of ’20,000 Freaks’. Already a massive hit across the US after DJ Icey used it on his mix compilation for London. It’s a fierce onslaught for dancefloor freaks everywhere.
