Alternative Funk is the term given to the music on this compilation that was conceived by Vox-Man records in 1984. Nowadays we might be more inclined to throw the phrase “Minimal Wave” at it thanks to Veronica Vasicka but what we effectively have is a selection of experimental electro, new wave, synthesizer oddities and understated works of dancefloor genius. This highly sought after LP serves as a genesis point for some highly prolific acts such as Dee Nasty, X Ray Pop, Psyclones and Vox Populi and a host of aliases for other acts that went on to bigger but not necessarily better things. Ultra rare and available for the first time in over 25 years on the high quality re-isse.
